Most of them have been built using light sandstone and granite. They are located above ground level and each of these temple has an entrance hall or mandapa and sanctum sanctorum or garbha griha. Each section has different form of roofs. The hall of the temple has pyramid roofs made of horizontal layers whereas roof of sanctum is a conical tower.
