The source of life that we call the Sun is the core of the solar energy system. It accounts for about 99.86% of the solar energy system’s mass. This means as the earth and other matters such as planets, asteroids and comets orbit this great star, it provides a vast amount of renewable energy source.

Throughout time, energy source has been reserved through fossil fuel such as coal and oil. Fossil fuel (also known as mineral fuel) was formed by natural substances from the remains of ancient animals and plants. These organism took millions of years to take shape and often contains high percentages of carbon and hydrocarbons.

Although fossil fuel accounts for 90% of the world’s energy resources, it has been the main culprit of greenhouse gases and pollution. It has also affected the climate change tremendously. The human race depends so heavily  on fossil fuel that it uses it 100,000 times faster than it is being made. And because it is non-renewable energy resource, it takes literally millions of years to form and is rapidly running out.

When we look at the hard, black, lumpy substance of coal, it’s hard to believe that it started out as large fern and tree-like plants that grew in swamps and bogs 440 million years ago. As the plants died and got eaten up by bacteria, it decayed into peat which then got covered in sand and mud. Over the millions of years, the heat and pressure changed it into coal, increasing the amount of carbon dioxide, again affecting the greenhouse gases and pollution.

So what could we use instead of fossil fuel for effective and economical renewable energy source which would be environmentally friendly?

The answer is solar power system! This renewable energy source is produced when sunlight is converted into electricity. It is an intermittent renewable energy source which means it can combine either with storage or other resources to provide continuous power.

The advantages of solar power system far outweighs the disadvantages and includes:

It is eco-friendly and therefore in harmony with the environment, helping to eliminate the greenhouse gases. It is a renewable energy source and will never run out. Although the solar power system can not be generated at night, there is always the  guarantee that the sun will be there every day. Maintaining the solar power system is very minimal. It saves you money in the long run and you’ll make massive savings in electricity costs.

The use of solar power system  make a huge difference in reducing damage to the greenhouse effect and slow down global warming. It will help replace conventional sources of non-renewable energy source which is rapidly running out.
